Chris Tomlin

Originally from East Texas, Chris Tomlin grew up enjoying country music and playing the acoustic guitar with his dad. He wrote his first song at the age of 14 and always sensed that God would use him best through music. Chris Tomlin graduated college with a degree in Psychology, but began hanging out with pastor Louie Giglio. The two would go on to create the Passion conference in 1997.

Teaching: A long time partner with Passion City Church (founded by Louie Giglio in Atlanta), Chris Tomlin is heads up a bi-annual worship conference called LIFT. Tomlin, Giglio, Nathan and Christy Nockels and David Crowder are all speakers/teachers at the events!

Accolades: Chris Tomlin and his band received their first GRAMMY Award in 2012 for And If Our God Is For Us.... Chris Tomlin was named Top Christian Artist and Our God was honored for Top Christian Song at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Music & Lyrics: How Great Is Our God, Jesus Messiah, Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone), and Our God - all written by Chris Tomlin. In fact, he is the most sung worship song writer in America.
