ARTIST OF THE DAY
Jars of Clay

Jars of Clay formed in 1994, when Dan Haseltine and Charlie Lowell became friends at Greenville College. By the end of 1995, few had not heard their breakout song Flood. Ever since, this college rock band has pursued their art form with relentless touring, recording and writing.

Discography: To date, Jars of Clay has released 14 albums! Including their new release Inland.

Blood|Water Mission: Lead singer Dan Haseltine visited Africa in 2002, which in turn inspired the founding of Blood:Water Mission, a non-profit organization created to raise awareness and money for the poverty and AIDS stricken regions of the continent. The name is derived from, as Haseltine says, "The two things Africa needs most" - clean blood and clean water. B:W kicked off the 1000 Wells project, an effort to have a thousand new wells built throughout Africa and just last year they met their goal of providing clean water to 1,000 African communitiest. Former Bassist for Jars of Clay Aaron Sands serves as Administrative Director for the project.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Rush of Fools

Rush of Fools burst onto the Christian music scene in 2007 earning ASCAP Song of the Year honors for Undo and garnered four Dove Award nominations. But then, their trials came - with the folding of their record label and a subsequent drawn out legal process.

Over the past several years, the band served their local community, toured regionally and kept writing songs. Those songs, written through a very tough time, turned out to be full of Hope. Since their independent release the band has been picked up by Sony/Provident Label Group and is about to release their most worshipful album to date.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
The City Harmonic

In 2011, a band hailing from Ontario, Canada made a tremendous splash into the United States. Their debut album Introducing The City Harmonic featured a hit song that captivated the American Christian radio audience and scored a surprise late hit. The song was Manifesto.

The band's first full-length album I Have A Dream conquered American airwaves with hit songs like the title track, Mountaintop and Holy (Wedding Day). Their latest album Heart continues establishing a sincere track record of worship.

It'd be one thing if their popularity was fueled simply by their creative piano driven rock sound, but it's the lyrical depth that gives the band staying power. Many times, taken directly from scripture and constantly surging towards moments of worship - The City Harmonic's songs have been called "a roadmap with only one route, to sum up the journey of faith and mystery."

In what might be the coolest contest for fans of any group - The City Harmonic are giving away Tickets For Life to fans each month of the year 2014. Which means you could go to any/all of their shows forever! CLICK HERE to sign up!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Matthew West

Dove award winning, GRAMMY nominated Matthew West is the songwriting darling of Nashville. A pastor’s son, West grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois and released three independent projects before signing to a major label and issuing his first studio album, Happy. The project yielded the hit “More,” which went on to become the most played song on Christian radio in 2004. His follow-up History would continue his radio dominance.

Then life happened. West underwent a career-threatening vocal surgery in 2007. He didn't know if he'd ever sing again. But God brought healing and fresh perspective. Less than a year after his surgery, West released Something To Say and garnered more listener and critical acclaim than ever before.

The last several albums released by Matthew West have been, in a way, co-authored by his fans. He began writing songs based on stories given to him by his fans both at concerts and through his interactive website.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Ryan Stevenson

Ryan has been playing worship music since he was 18-years-old, after his youth pastor surprised him by giving him a guitar. From there, Ryan began performing at summer camps, mission trips, and youth groups. The singer also formed an acoustic duo with fellow singer Paul Wright, while attending Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon.

After years of writing songs and performing live shows, Ryan caught the attention of TobyMac, who signed him to his label, Gotee Records.

Besides making albums, Ryan is currently serving as worship leader at Vertical Church Boise, Idaho. He is also a husband, and a father to two boys.

Ryan's debut album, Holding Nothing Back was birthed during a season of extreme personal heartache and uncertainty. On the heels of the death of my mother from bone cancer; his wife's miscarriage of twins; the division of their home church; and a series of setbacks in his music career—in the midst of this fiery storm— Ryan found myself very disillusioned with God, shaking his fist at Him in anger.

During this time Ryan says, "I felt the "still, small voice" of the Lord. He began to ask me, 'If you were to lose everything, would I still be enough for you as your God, as your Savior?' I was extremely convicted and began to weep, knowing I had put my hope and security in things and people rather than in Jesus. I immediately began to pray with a broken, repugnant heart, literally saying the words, 'Jesus, I don't want anything coming in between You and me; It doesn't mater what I have to go through, I’m holding nothing back from You.'"

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Andy Cherry

Andy is a worship leader at a mega-church in North Carolina, CharlotteOne. His songs are first and foremost, worship anthems. They were born out of a desire to get God's people asking hard questions about their faith - putting in the work - becoming desperate for God's will, no matter what the cost.

Worship Revelation: One morning, leading worship at church, Andy was silently wishing to be anywhere else. He was tired and felt like nothing he was doing mattered. It was then that God revealed to him, Hey Andy, I don't need you to do this. I want you to. Andy decided it would be best to get on board with what God is doing, rather than try to make music about himself.

Family: Andy is the youngest of four siblings. All sisters.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Audio Adrenaline

Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss met at Kentucky Christian University. Stuart and his brother David were putting together a rock band and McGinniss struck up a friendship with the pair. Along with David and Barry Blair they launched a band called A-180. The band recorded two independent albums before signing a record contract with ForeFront Records. It was then that they officially became Audio Adrenaline.

Christian music would never be the same - or youth camp. Hits like Big House and We're A Band propelled the band to the forefront of a thriving Christian rock scene in the mid-90s. They were headliners for every Christian festival on the planet - and toured ceaselessly. Ultimately, that took a toll on their families and relationships. Exhaustion and family strain, plus a vocal disease for lead singer Mark Stuart led to the end of Audio Adrenaline.

Or so it seemed...

Just last year the band reformed - now with Kevin Max (formerly of dcTalk) as the new lead singer - with Mark Stuart writing and producing for the band (still unable to sing).  Proceeds from the band's new album go to fund the Hands & Feet Project in Haiti!
