ARTIST OF THE DAY
Hillsong

One church, from the far corner of the earth has single-handedly inspired three generations worth of worship music. Hillsong. How did a single church connect with the global Church in such a meaningful way? Well they have always (and continue to) raise up leaders and encourage diversity in worship.

Every year the worship ministry produces a live worship album that includes hundreds of leaders from across the globe. This year’s release No Other Name is decidedly special. Blending the sounds of their variety of worship teams - including Dove Award nominees UNITED and Young & Free - the collection of original worship songs will no doubt inspire and enable worship teams and churches from all corners of the world.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
CentricWorship

CentricWorship is a fledgling division of Centricity Records, out of Nashville, TN. Instead of focussing on massive tours, radio releases and charting albums - this division operates under the mantra, “..songs centered on Him who is the center of it all.” As a company and collection of songwriters, CentricWorship aims to be a resource the Church. And as it happens, craft some beautiful melodies that we just can’t help but play on Christian radio.

Steve Rice, the VP of Centricity Publishing and founder of CentricWorship says, “Through CentricWorship, we want to continue providing engaging and encouraging songs that exalt the name of Jesus, with sound Biblical doctrine.” When was the last time you heard the upper echelon of a major record label say something like that?!

The kick off this new endeavor, CentricWorship hosted a worship leaders’ retreat and recorded a live worship album featuring acclaimed writers and singers Aaron Shust, Corey Voss, Lauren Daigle, Michael Farren and many others. It was such a success they’ve just wrapped their second retreat album!

“CentricWorship is about moving hearts of all ages to express their deepest felt worship of the One who is worthy of it all. “ - CentricWorship

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Page CXVI

Page CXVI is a project started with the idea of making hymns accessible and known again. The name comes from a reference to page 116 of The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis. It is a poignant passage where Aslan begins to sing Narnia into creation out of a black void.

Over the past several years Page CXVI has done a series of fan-funded albums that put music and lyrics to liturgy - covering Advent, the Psalms and Easter. They have also recorded three hymn EPs and a collection of lullabies. Their most recent undertaking is entitled Good Friday To Easter.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
All Sons & Daughters

The worship duo of David Leonard and Leslie Jordan was birthed in 2010 from Journey Church located in the Nashville suburb of Franklin, Tennessee. Jordan and Leonard met at Journey in the summer of 2009 where they began writing worship songs for their church family. Their evolution into a duo began when they started leading those songs together on Sunday mornings. Both currently serve on staff at Journey as Worship Designers in the Creative Arts Ministry.

Leslie Jordan has been leading worship since age 14, both in her own church and for churches and conferences across the United States. David Leonard grew up in Southeast Arkansas and attended college at John Brown University. While attending the university, Leonard began the Word Records band Jackson Waters. After Jackson Waters disbanded in 2008, Leonard toured with NEEDTOBREATHE for a couple of years before forming All Sons & Daughters.

Joy In The Morning

The Joy Ride

So now the countdown to Easter begins!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Todd Angew

Todd Agnew modeled his early career after Rich Mullins. He was a lone gun, describing his methodology as, "I've always been kind of the hammer - walk in, speak the truth, blow up the town, walk off and let all the pastors apply that truth or pick up the pieces." If you've seen him in concert you know that he isn't afraid to stop mid-song and tell the crowd exactly how he feels.

But that attitude changed completely in 2008, when Todd went from flying solo all over the world to owning a home, getting married, and becoming a step-dad. You can imagine that changes your perspective. His latest music is filled with a sense of Joy, Hope, and Love that had been missing in both Todd's life and his ministry.

New Year’s Eve!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
The Afters

When The Afters broke out onto the scene, it didn't seem like anything could stop them. Their music was fun, their attitudes were joyful and nothing could slow them down!

But life's circumstances quickly changed everything. After losing their longtime friend and manager to a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, two band members decided to part ways with the band, and then there was a life-threatening car wreck, followed by a new member of the band losing a close friend just one week after joining the group.

It was a rough season of change for The Afters. Holding on to their faith and their passion for making music has kept the band focused throughout the mess of it all. Through the pain, faith grew in abundance and that is definitely the message behind their most recent releases.

Ancient History: The four original members of The Afters met while working at a Starbucks together. The band's original name was Screaming Mimes - then they changed it to Blisse. Thankfully a producer talked them into the The Afters.

TV: The Afters' music has been featured on television shows and promos for shows on almost every major network and various cable shows as well - including Grey's Anatomy, Rachel Ray, Dr. Phil, The Biggest Loser, Army Wives, You Deserve It, October Baby, So You Think You Can Dance, Americas Got Talent, The Hills, The Vineyard and more!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Luminate

Luminate frontman Sam Hancock (lead vocal/guitar) grew up in Washington, IN, and began leading worship at his church at 14. While Sam continued this role through high school, he also struggled with the same issues of many teens. He calls his late high school years his time of rebellion.

Upon graduation, Hancock was at a crossroads of choosing business school or music school. He chose music and enrolled at the Visible School of Music in Memphis. It was there he met Dusty Jakubik (bass), who was looking for a fresh start after the group he was in fell apart. From there the pieces fell into place, adding additional members to the group that would become Luminate.

The Message: Luminate aims to show people that they have purpose when they think they have none.

The Goal: Reaching the world through song, and to bring hope by example, humility, and truth to a generation filled with apathy and confusion.

In a letter on the band’s website, Sam Hancock announced that the group will now focus solely on leading worship in local churches. They want to step out of the music industry and back into equipping God’s people to worship. A new worship album is due out later this Winter.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
City Harbor

Hailing from Nashville, TN, Molly Reed and Robby Earle are City Harbor. Their songs come from a desire to know Christ and to make Christ known to the world around. As they explain, “when we see hurting people, struggling loved ones, and injustice in the world we’re always thinking somebody’s gotta do something but inside we know it has to start with us. All too often we miss the moment to share our faith or show love.”

Molly and Robby were both songwriters for other artists (including Amy Grant) before forming City Harbor. And no - they are not married to each other. In fact, Molly is married to Mike Grayson - lead singer of MIKESCHAIR.
