Joy in the Morning

Verse of the Day

And he also said, "It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega- the beginning and the end. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.

Revelation 21:6

Amazing Fact

It takes an interaction of 72 muscles to produce human speech.

Scriptural Pursuit

Q: What does Jesus' name, Emmanuel, mean?

A: "God with us." (Matthew 1) Congrats to James in Crisfield, MD!

The Joy Ride

It’s Christmastime! It’s Advent! It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Michael W. Smith

Michael Whitaker Smith was born October 7, 1957 to Paul and Barbara Smith in Kenova, West Virginia. Michael was your typical Southern boy – active in baseball, his family’s church activities, and playing piano. He wrote his first song at age 5 (I’m sure it was precious) - but as a child, he longed to be a professional baseball player!

In 1982, Michael was asked to play keyboards in a band that was backing up Christian & Pop sensation, Amy Grant. Michael toured and wrote with Amy for years before launching his own solo career. In 1989 his song Go West Young Man began what would become one of the most legendary careers in Christian music.

From pavement pounding superstar of the 1990s, to record label founding, mega-producer artist who jets around the world on private planes - Smitty has sung for Presidents and orphans alike! According to his Twitter feed, this week he’s working on a new Christmas album with Country superstars Lady Antebellum. But that’s just another day in the life of a guy who’s sold more than 15 million albums, scored 28 No. 1 hits, earning three GRAMMYs and more than 40 Dove Awards.
